Position Description:

Ford Motor Company is seeking an experienced Linux systems administrator to support our high performance computing and machine learning ecosystem. Spanning multiple new data centers and built with the latest CPU, GPU, network, storage and middleware technology, Ford”s HPC and ML infrastructure service provides capability for Ford users globally. This position will support the engineering and operation of our ecosystem. Responsibilities include: . Linux System Administration (deploying new hardware and software, diagnosing system problems, troubleshooting network problems, etc. . Integrate related middleware components including container orchestration technologies . Automation of manual processes . Participate in the on-call rotation, roughly every eighth week . Other related duties as assigned

Skills Required:

* 4+ years of experience as a Linux Administrator (RHEL preferred) * 2+ years of experience scripting from scratch (Python and bash preferred) * Ability to self-start, multitask and communicate effectively

Experience Required:

Experience Preferred:

. Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking . Troubleshooting and problem resolution skills . Exposure to Kerberos and LDAP . Experience with containers (e.g. Docker) and orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes) . Exposure to automation tools such as Chef . Exposure to Infiniband networking . Experience in an HPC environment . Experience with GPUs as a compute accelerator . Experience with administering large, high-speed filesystems (GPFS, Lustre, etc.) . Knowledge of bash, Python, and/or Perl, and willing to learn the ones you do not know . During COVID-19 Ford is in a work-from-home mode, but when things settle down this will be an on-site position. . Even with COVID-19, the resource will need to occasionally go to the Ford.s data centers in southeast Michigan, potentially several times a week. . This position is for an on-site resource that will frequently interact with other engineering, operations and development teams based in and around Dearborn, MI. none

Education Required:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
