Duration: 3-month Contract

Pay Rate: $32.50/hr

 

Our client, a Fortune 500 multi-state healthcare organization, is looking to hire a Medical Policy Analyst who will be responsible for providing support to the Medical policy department for the development, implementation, interpretation, and maintenance of all corporate medical policies. The Medical Policy Analyst will be developing medical policies from draft stage to final approval and implementation, researching and evaluate clinical evidence, analyzing the data from medical literature, preparing documents for review by the Medical overage Guidance Committee and providing standardization of review processes for all Molina health plans. The Medical Policy Analyst will also be responsible for supporting all tasks associated with the Medical Coverage Guidance Committee including organizing meeting materials, distributing literature relevant to agenda items, coordinating the participation of content experts, managing the company's relationships with external technology assessment services, and acting as the interface between the Company's business units and the Medical Coverage Guidance Committee.

 

The Medical Policy Analyst is to work this part-time role remotely for 20 hours per week and schedule is flexible unless there is a business need that requires a specific schedule.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • The Medical Policy Analyst must be an RN with a current, valid and unrestricted license in the state of residence.
  • The Medical Policy Analyst must have a Bachelor's degree in nursing or a healthcare-related field (Medical Anthropology, Community Health, Medical Sciences, Library Science, etc.)
  • The Medical Policy Analyst must have at least 2 years of experience in utilization management with a health plan.
  • The Medical Policy Analyst is strongly preferred, but not required, to have experience reviewing evidence-based literature
  • The Medical Policy Analyst is preferred, but not required, to have 2 years of experience in medical policy development / medical technology assessment, including critical appraisal of scientific literature related to medical technologies and use of statistical tools / methodology to analyze and interpret medical and/or public health data
  • The Medical Policy Analyst must have knowledge of healthcare terminology
  • The Medical Policy Analyst must have familiarity with ICD9-ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS coding
  • The Medical Policy Analyst must have strong word processing and spreadsheet skills as well as Internet research abilities. Includes: MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and preferably a familiarity with SharePoint, and Visio
