Our client is a large front runner in the automotive industry is looking for a Virtual Target Software Engineer to sit remotely on their team. The engineer in this role will work in the Central Software organization and will be responsible for the development and maintenance of a virtual co-simulation platform. Candidates are expected to work in Agile team settings to provide methods and processes for software and controls engineers across the company to test their application software on a fully virtual setup. 
 

What you'll be able to do:

  • Evaluate virtual simulation tools for software integration testing
  • Work with software and controls engineers within product development to identify their testing needs
  • Work with tool vendors and company suppliers to resolve issues
  • Implement methodologies to co-simulate multiple testing tools by utilizing standards like XIL and FMI
  • Develop scripts to automate the building of virtual test environments
  • Assist teams with the adoption and the application of virtual simulation environments
  • Train others on new tools
  • Work in Agile setting

Minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in virtual test platform development for embedded applications
  • 1+ years of experience in embedded software development using both C and Matlab
  • 1+ years of experience using MIL and SIL methods for Unit and/or integration testing
  • 6+ months of experience in scripting using Python or equivalent technology

Our preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive feature testing on HIL and/or vehicle
  • 1+ years of experience in using co-simulation methods that utilize standards like FMI
  • 1+ years of experience working with hardware and software virtualization technologies
  • 1+ years of experience using calibration and/or CAN tools like CANoe, CANalyser, CANape, Intrepid, Inca or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience using version management tools like GitHub, Clearcase or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience developing on top of the AUTOSAR platform
  • Understanding of vehicle dynamics
  • Working experience in tools integration using APIs, basic understanding of test management tools, familiarity with Carmaker/Carsim
  • Familiarity with ISO26262 and ISO29119 standards, AUTOSAR Classic and Adaptive software platforms, & Requirements Management tools like Doors, Polarion, etc
