We are seeking a strong Enterprise Architect to join our dream team and help us in our mission of modernizing public health data systems. This is a contract position that promises to be engaging and fulfilling.
About the Role:
As an Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of technology solutions to modernize our public health data systems. Your role will be pivotal in achieving successful data modernization. You will work closely with the Data Modernization Initiative (DMI) Director, Data Strategy Administrators, and other stakeholders within the Public Health Administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a technical roadmap for data modernization that aligns with the CDC’s vision and priorities.
- Architect robust, scalable, and secure data systems that can handle the demands of modern public health surveillance.
- Drive innovative solutions to enhance data collection, analysis, and dissemination for better decision-making.
- Provide technical guidance and support to our team, ensuring the effective use of modern data technologies.
Required Skills and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in programming languages, database management, system design, networking, cloud services, DevOps practices, and cybersecurity measures.
- Hands-on experience in roles such as software developer, systems analyst, or network engineer.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to lead teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strategic planning and roadmapping abilities.
- Proficiency in modeling and diagramming tools and methodologies for designing IT systems.
- Experience in integrating various systems to create cohesive solutions that meet organizational needs.
- Knowledge of security protocols and measures to protect sensitive public health data.
- Familiarity with DevOps methodologies to improve system deployment and operational efficiency.
- Experience performing analysis, designing, documenting, and implementing organizations' enterprise architecture structural framework.
- Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) information and analytics platforms and products (e.g., DataBricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Experience in the public or government health industry.
Nice to Have:
- A master’s degree or higher education in specialized areas such as cloud computing, cybersecurity, or enterprise architecture.
- Certifications from recognized bodies like The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
- Leadership in projects involving system architecture.
