Network Engineer

Our client, a leading automotive company, is on the hunt for a skilled Network Engineer to join their expanding team.
This role requires a blend of technical expertise and creative problem-solving skills to support network operations and ensure customer needs are met.
What you’ll be doing: – Tailoring network sizes to align with volume or capacity requirements – Collaborating with customers, sales, and marketing teams to understand and meet customer needs – Managing network operations, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades – Designing, building, and operating equipment configuration prototypes, including network hardware, software, servers, and server operation systems – Identifying specific network hardware or software requirements such as platforms, interfaces, bandwidths, or routine schemas – Developing and implementing solutions for network problems
The right person has: – A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or a related field – 0-2 years of experience in network/systems administration or related work – Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification (preferred) – Knowledge of computer hardware as it relates to data storage – Familiarity with computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software, and internet directory services software – On-site service provision Additional Responsibilities: – Providing end-user, network, infrastructure, and application support – Supporting all managed LAN, WAN, and WLAN network infrastructure – Assisting with software patching/installation, asset management, and change management functions – Supporting incident management process to coordinate issue resolution – Completing assigned IT project tasks and interacting with all levels of the workforce
Minimum Qualifications: – 3-7 years of experience supporting end-user devices/networks in Information Technology – Cisco LAN/WAN infrastructure knowledge – Ability to develop relationships with business partners and team members through analytical skills, communication, and interpersonal skills – Demonstrated initiative beyond the assigned work to improve output and/or assist others
Preferred Qualifications: – Knowledge of client hardware use, repair, and replacement – Familiarity with remote PC management tools (VNC, VPN, RDP, Bomgar) – Working knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, and wireless access points – Basic understanding of Active Directory management – Knowledge of ITIL concepts including Incident Management, Change Management, IT Asset Management, Release Management, Service Request Management, Service Desk – A working knowledge of ServiceNow
