As a member of the Human Resources team, the Assistant HR Manager will be responsible for performing the administrative duties for the human resource function in a just in time, lean manufacturing environment. Incumbents in this classification are responsible for interviewing and training employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems, assisting in policy and procedure development; and processing, verifying, and maintaining, and developing documentation relating to personnel activities such as staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, and classifications.
The Role:
Your work will include, but not be limited to:
- Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are all in compliance.
- Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
- Assists with developing and implementing cost saving ideas and strategies for other plants.
- Initiates and investigations regarding allegations of harassments, discrimination, and/or inappropriate conduct.
- Maintains the confidentiality of the HR department regarding employee disclosures and issues.
Your Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) to five (5) years generalist experience.
- Knowledge of the operational characteristics, services, and activities of a comprehensive human resources program as needed to assist in setting and achieving departmental goals.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
- Knowledge of labor law compliance issues and practices.
Bonus If You Have:
- Master’s degree in Human Resources or an MBA with a Human Resources concentration.
- Experience working with strategic employee engagement programs.
